A Little More Organizing

Hey all you Pinterest fans, be sure to follow via email, facebook, google+ or Google Friend Connect ~ buttons on my sidebar.
~
One thing about our home is that it's constantly changing. Cleaning and organizing is just a fact of life. Remember my favorite motto from Bissell; "Life's messy, clean it up"? I always have to remind myself of that!
I do have a confession to make....I do love the organizing part. Ok, so you already knew that.

But, loving organizing things can also be a curse. (I know, that's a little dramatic). I'm a recovering perfectionist and little things bug me.
Like the following shelf, for example. One basket, with stuff on the side. I've been looking for two baskets that fit on the shelf side by side for awhile now. I could have bought them right off the bat if I wanted to spend the money and pay full price. But, since it wasn't that big of a deal, I waited to find two baskets that fit and weren't too expensive...oh and went with the other baskets in my closet.

The other baskets in my closet hold tanks, t shirts, etc.

Of course you know I found the two perfect baskets at HomeGoods. The shelf looks much neater now : ) Note to self...what's up with the two shelves above the baskets?

Today is laundry and cleaning day. Oh, so much fun!
Don't you ever just wish you could clone yourself when there's work to be done?

On a happier note... today is the first day of college for my youngest.
Need to make something good for dinner tonight to celebrate!

The tracks that the baskets are on are called shelving standards and are available at Lowe's and Home Depot.

I'm a little obsessed with organizing myself, but isn't it nice to go into your closet and know exactly where to find what you're looking for?

Boy you would croak if you saw my closet! I want to scream at it all the time! Your's looks marvelous and the baskets must be great to have. I waited too long to get more baskets like the ones I picked up at Michaels and they don't have them any longer. They were pretty good replicants of some that Pottery Barn sells for a fraction of their price. You are where I was at 5 years ago with my 2nd child off to college....empty house. I'm fine with it, but on occassion I do feel lonely and would love to have both my kids running about here again! Enjoy your dinner with your hubby!

Love the closet but how are the baskets hanging. What did you use to get them to hang in a row and are they removable?

Pam - diy Design Fanatic said...

Anonymous, regarding the baskets; if you look behind them there are tracks on the wall and the baskets sit on brackets in the tracks. The tracks are adjustable. The baskets are just sitting on the brackets like they would sit on a shelf, so you can take them down as needed.

I found the baskets at HomeGoods, but Target also sells them.

Where did you get the wall mount from to place the baskets on?

You can find the brackets for the shelves at Lowe's or Home Depot.

What do you use to hang up your necklaces?

Pam - @diy Design Fanatic said...

The Vrabecs, you have no reply blogger and I couldn't email you the answer to your question, so I hope you see this. The necklaces are hanging on a tie rack.

Where did you find the tall white shelving and the one with drawers? That is exactly what I have been looking for.

Any suggestions for organizing purses? Help!!

Pam - @diy Design Fanatic said...

hey Genamac, you have no reply blogger on, so I couldn't send you an email directly. Regarding organizing purses...it really depends on how much space you have. I keep my purses in the brown baskets above the drawers. You can also get these upright shelf dividers to put in between purses to keep them up. If you have a lot of hanging space, you can put your purses on hangers and hang them on a closet rod.

Where did you get your shelving that your shoes are on? Closet looks awesome! I'm currently doing ours

Anonymous, you have "no reply blogger" on so I couldn't email you directly...The shelving that my shoes are on were custom built with the whole closet.

The Baskets that sit on brackets are a great idea! All of those products - the white hanging standards and brackets, as well as the brown baskets with bow tie - can be found at The Container Store! If you wanted to use other baskets (perhaps ones you already own), you can also use ventilated shelves from The Container Store and place your baskets on there - they can cut shelves down to any size you need!!

Thank you for sharing this post. I so love your ideas and these actually helped me widen my imagination. The way you organized your things is so nicely done. I so envy you for his because I do have some maintenance issue. I am working on it, though. This post will even help me out. Thank you.
