I Hate Cooking!

There, I said it...
cafepress.com

Anyone else feel this way?
This is how I feel when I'm thinking about what to make for dinner...
pakonenproducts.com

Maybe I should get this book...

I am still grateful (see last post) for the blessing of never having gone hungry for lack of food. I am hungry right now because I don't know what I want to eat. Talk about being spoiled.

Remember the sign in the Breakfast Room that I made awhile back? Maybe it should say, Eat Something Good Now!

It's not that I can't cook, it's just that sometimes it takes so long and there are so many other things I'd rather be doing...even......cleaning the bathrooms. Is it just me?

Mr. Fanatic and our youngest daughter love to cook...Well, Mr. Fanatic loves  to cook; I think Jenny just likes for him to cook wonderful things for her. Sorry Jenny! I am so grateful to have a husband who loves to cook. Still, since he works and I stay home, it's my job to make dinner.

My favorite dinner is steak on the grill, baked potatoes and a salad..
hvmag.com
Why? because there's only a salad bowl to clean up! The problem is, we can't afford to eat this 7 days a week.

I could eat the same thing for days. Cooking and eating takes us too much time. If I didn't have to eat, it would be ok with me. Did I say that out loud?

Back to grilled chicken... it can be eaten in so many ways. I love grilling up a bunch of chicken and eating the leftovers as grilled chicken sandwiches,  quesadillas, chicken pasta salad, etc. It saves so much time when you cook for more than one meal.

Here's the Chicken Club Quesadillas I make.

Burritos and tacos are simple...

So is Italian Meatloaf.

It doesn't help that I don't like very many foods as this seriously limits what to cook.
So, what should I make for dinner????
Does anyone else have this problem???

I am not that fond of cooking myself. I hate the clean up more than anything, and I get in a rut with the same things. What I can cook, I can do well!

YES!! I hate cooking & I don't do it very well. My hubs loves to cook, thank goodness. We both work full time jobs & he gets home before me so he does the majority of the cooking. I do crock pot stuff & make salads or sides. What I really hate is determining what we're going to eat so we can grocery shop accordingly. We do always cook enough for multiple meal.

I only have a kitchen cause it came with the house, actually I have 2 kitchens, lol. But my mainstay is shrimp. I keep a large bag of precooked shrimp in the freezer. I eat a lot of shrimp salad, stir fry, and now that Campbell's is making their cream of shrimp soup I will add 5 or 6 more shrimp to the soup and have that with couple pieces of toast. Also veggie, cheese omelets are another favorite. I can have dinner for myself any night in less than 5 minutes.

These are my thoughts EXACTLY! I feel the same way. I'd rather clean bathrooms than cook! I think if my little ones would actually eat what I did make an effort to make would help...maybe?

Thanks for sharing!

I love to cook now but that is because I finally have TIME to do it properly. When I worked as a RN it was so hard to come home and cook, I really wanted to go to bed instead. So I am grateful to have time to buy quality food and prepare it. I am a bit of a foodie now. I too am picky about what I eat.

I hate cooking too. I wish someone else in the family enjoyed it. We eat lots of salads and grilled things to make life easier.

I hate cooking, except when the mood strikes. But I always hate cleaning up.

I don't hate it, but it just takes up too much time and then you have to clean up! I did start using
e-mealz.com

They are a website where you pick the store you want to use and they send you a menu for 7 days based on the sale items at the store. You can get low-carb, weight watchers, gluten free or normal. It has a sheet that has the meals, ingredients and how to fix it. Then the second sheet is your grocery list all laid out by the store. Makes it easy to shop too! You can also get the meals for 1-2 people or 4-6. It has all been pretty good so far! Check it out!

I should get paid or something for free advertising!

Get a slow cooker. One thing to clean up and you can make thousands of different things in there. Pulled pork, chicken, chili, pot roast, stew, lamb, soup, rice, grits, oatmeal and on and on. Smells great all day and you don't have to watch it. Best investment I ever made, and I love to cook.

I have TWO slow cookers and use them several times a month. It's not that I don't know how to cook, I just don't like to. I don't like the part about making what others like. (My husband loves everything I make)

Sure, we all have times we'd rather be doing anything but cooking.
Lately I've been doing a lot of things in the crock pot like soups, chili, or stews. Taste so good on these chilly days.
Have a great weekend!

I am sooo like you. I really don't like to cook and especially do not like planning out meals. I am right there with ya sounding like a spoiled brat because I think it would be so great to have someone plan and cook all of my meals. LOL! I've only occassionally gotten on a roll with cooking and enjoying it but then it wears off and it's back to the same old same olds. What can I say, it's just not my thang! :))

Have you tried planning it out ahead of time? A long time ago, I made a list of all our favorite meals. I write them down on the kitchen calendar and spread them out so we have good variety and so we don't have pasta 3 times in one week :) If I'm not in the mood for what's listed one day, I just switch with another day. This also prevents having to run to the store 2 or 3 times a week because I can get everything I need all at once.

This made me smile...I despise cooking but my hubby loves it. We eat good on the weekends when he cooks :) Glad to see I'm not the only one! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

If someone else would plan all the menus, buy all the groceries and put out everthing needed for each meal, I really wouldn't mind actually cooking the meal. But I'd also want them to come back in for clean up ~ you know, while I got back to my sewing, crafting, and etc.
